Last night brought #TheBaldOne to Brodies Seaport for dinner. It had been some time since his last visit. It was a quiet room on arrival with but a crew sitting at the bar, and one table in use. A welcome respite from the persistent, stubborn #Afterweeners.

The Specials menu included a Chicken, Potato, Mushroom Chowder. “Bring it on” said our hungry hero. It was full of good chunks of chicken, with plenty of potato and mushrooms. In a thin, brown broth. We would not call it an actual Chowder, but it was indeed a delicious stew.

Then came the big move, the Derby Street Sizzling Steak made by Victor who once prepared the same steaming hot, garlic butter creation for Spiro at the old Witch’s Brew. It was taste of the past enjoyed in the reality of today.

# TheBaldOne hit Sunday Funday at Brodies Seaport yesterday. But he got there a few hours before the fun began.

#TheGentleman dropped in for lunch while our man was there and ordered a really good looking plate of Steak Tips, mashed taters and green beans. He allowed us a moment for a couple of photos. Thank you.

Then #PubAndClothDude, decked out in a loud, colorful and boisterous shirt came in accompanied by #SceneDirector, who insisted that the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese Sandwich be posed just the right way, and maybe even another way. Our man with a cell phone camera was a bit discombobulated over the firm, and insistent instructions. However, he regained his composure quickly and that was that.

Saturday night found #TheBaldOne dropping into Brodies Seaport for his dinner. Some snow was falling outside, the light were low inside, the joint was packed, and the band had it all going on.

On the Specials Menu notice was taken of a Big Mac Smash Burger. Who could resist this. Certainly not our very hungry wandering hero. The order was put in, and a Blue Moon Brewing Company beverage sipped in rhythm with the crowd and the music. Thank goodness there was no drum solo at the time or another beer would have been required.

The Big Mac Smash came out and presented a very strong first impression. A steak knife stood tall in the middle holding the bun, two very thick smash patties, and all the trimmings including the house special sauce together. Steak fries, cooked a little extra were piled alongside. The thicker patties meant that the smash burgers had enough heft to allow for them to not be well done. There was indeed some lovely, juicy, delicious pink in each patty. Yes! Praise the lord and pass the ammunition, this a Burger to fuel the fight in every way.
