While out and about town early this afternoon #TheBaldOne noticed a young team member at Coffee Time Bake Shop sweeping their sidewalk and curb areas. We LOVE to see this and offer a hearty “well done.”

Coffee Time Bake Shop on Bridge Street Neck is one of the truly great spots in Salem. Few can match their consistent excellence in what they do.
This morning a visit by #PalfreysGhost for a mid-morning nosh was exactly what a lovely morning needed. A Vegetarian Pesto & Egg Breakfast Sandwich on English Muffin was the call. Made to order, this was a quick and tasty morning nibble.
And then…
… came the Chocolate Eclair. This Eclair is the evolutionary pinnacle of cream filled, chocolate covered pastry. It is stuffed, overstuffed with silky, sinfully delicious house-made cream. We dare you to buy a box of them, and NOT eat one on the drive home.
Coffee Time Bake Shop is a scratch bakery with wonderful staff, lots of hand-made sweet treats, and breakfast sandwiches too. Salem is lucky to have this iconic Bridge Street spot.
It seems that things in the Salem donut universe may be coming full circle. The city was once dotted with small, independent donut shops. The came the corporate giants like DD that slowly squeezed out the small businesses. Since then Coffee Time Bake Shop and Ziggy and Sons’ Donuts have stood as the last of the breed.
Perhaps a donut revolution is in the works by the small business people. Funhouse Donuts is open at 282 Derby Street, next door to Bit Bar and All Souls. #WeddingPlanner has already been in and sampled the wares.
