Yesterday’s lunch for #SonOfAnExpletive was at Salem House of Pizza. This spot has been around a long time and has, we believe, been under current ownership now for a few years.
A Pepperoni Slice began the festivities, It came out hot, and had some fresh cheese on top of the pepperoni slices. Theirs is what many would describe as a “Greek style” pie. Thin crust, with a thin edge all around. The crust has a little crispness to it and the end of the slice flopped slightly when picked up. There was plenty of pepperoni on it, and the extra cheese on top added a nice layer of flavor and texture.
Next up was bit of a miscalculation to say the least. When ordering the pasta plates here you should keep in mind that while one plate may be just the right size for a growing teenager, It’s actually enough in most cases, to feed two adults, in some cases maybe three. Photos show the Pasta Combo with ziti, sausage, and meatballs.

Salem House Of Pizza served this Cheeseburger Club on wheat with steak fries for lunch yesterday.
#OnceSkinny was somewhat surprised by both the size of the sandwich and the presentation. Some places use a smaller sandwich bread for a club. This was a BIG sandwich. No toothpicks or small skewers were used to hold the club together. This was fine as the sandwich, despite it’s size was manageable.
The bacon used was quite thick, cooked almost to crisp and there was plenty of it. Yes, there was A LOT of bacon.
Pizza, pasta, subs, and a whole lot other items like soups, salads, and roast beef sandwiches are on the board at Salem House Of Pizza.
This is a traditional Salem spot that has been through a few owners over the years. The folks that have it now have made major improvements all around.

This was a good substantial feed on a cooler day where a hearty meal served well.
This is how Salem House Of Pizza does the classic Italian style sub. It’s a good one. They are on the very edge of the downtown, so if you get clever you may be able to avoid a lot of the incoming traffic.
