Yesterday #TheBaldOne decided that Breakfast would be at Wolf Next Door Coffee on Derby Street.
This Wolf, created by an actual Wolf, is a quaint space that carries an old-school casual, friendly atmosphere that just seems to encourage guests to speak with each other. Standing mute in line, staring at a space on the wall while ignoring others who are ignoring you just won’t work here. Once you step in you become part of the pack, but without the hierarchy. They prefer that you not howl or yowl, but they do want to hear you.
A really good large, hot, black coffee by Jim’s Organic Coffee started the morning nicely. You pour it yourself, and on this visit half the pour finished one urn, whole the other half started the fresh urn.
The sandwich was egg, cheddar, turkey and house hummus on a nice white sourdough bread by Fantini Bakery. Amply stuffed with added greens and tomato this is a sandwich of early morning distinction.
A seat was taken on the Mercy Tavern patio. It’s nice to see neighboring businesses getting along and working together. Company and conversation were provided by #GetaHat, #MysteryLaptopGuy (what does he do?), and #DoctorCannnotKeepUp.
