This morning’s walk across the Salem Common was simply beautiful. The warm, shining sun aided and abetted by wispy white clouds, and a light sea breeze checked all of the perfect Sunday morning boxes. The walk was interrupted a few times for short, pleasant chats with a few of our local denizens including a couple familiar with #TheBestSalemPaige.

#TheBaldOne found the sight of Goodnight Fatty could not be resisted, so he detoured from his usual morning route. Did you know that this delectable little spot serves Breakfast treats on Sunday as Good Morning Chubby? If you didn’t, now you do. You can enjoy one of these delicious morning creations stuffed with all of your breakfast goodness to include a savory one, a Vegan option, and a sweet roll. There’s also a gluten-free bowl, and a selection of endless cereals. Yes you read that correctly, endless cereal. The coffee by the way, by Bucklyn Coffee is simply outstanding. This Bucklyn coffee needs no help from cream or sugar, but you of course can have it served for your own taste.

This morning’s savory Chubby just may have been the best one yet. A slightly more than moderate pinch of cracked black pepper really put it over the savory top. Our tall, handsome, sharp of mind and keen of wit hero also enjoyed the Vegan Chubby which is surprisingly close in flavor and texture to the savory version, but without the lovely bite of black pepper. Coming in as advertised the Sweet Chubby will certainly more than satisfy those when a sweet tooth insists on being placated.

Change up your Sunday morning routine with a Chubby.

Have you found and explored Goodnight Fatty yet? I love to bake…

Have you found and explored Goodnight Fatty yet?

I love to bake cookies, it’s a tasty trip,
sometimes I make oatmeal, or macadamia
sometimes chocolate chip.

I get so excited when I set them in line
then put them in the oven just right,
knowing they’re mine.

I wait for the timer to alert me they’re done.
I run to the kitchen really fast, take them out
then eat them one by one.

My brother always fights me for the last treat.
He says if I don’t let go he’ll put socks on my pillow
from his stinky feet.

I don’t have a favorite cookie to say.
I like any one with chocolate, more chocolate
or sugary spray.

I cant imagine a world without cookies,
but the poem is over now for lack of a rhyme
that isn’t just Wookies.

This morning #TheBaldOne decided that it was the day for a stop at Good Morning Chubby, the one day a week cousin of Salem’s favorite late night cookie spot Goodnight Fatty.

The Spicy Chubby, made with JUST Egg, Beyond Meat sausage, Daiya Foods cheese, hash browns, shallots, peppers, and a chive and mixed onion topping. A Savory Chubby, made with real eggs, cheddar cheese shallots, sweet bell and peppers, and the chive and mixed onion topping was also ordered. Each was eaten after a short walk to a couple of scenic and historically significant downtown spots.

When’s the last time that you enjoyed a Sunday morning Chubby?
