Here’s a Chicken Cutlet on Focaccia from Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter at Salem Willows. This is one of the new spots on the midway and it fed #FilmFestBoss early Sunday afternoon.

Our man ate half of it and brought the other half home to #AlwaysStyling for another opinion. The Alla Vodka Sauce and overall sandwich itself drew strong praise across the board.

Let’s start your morning off with some GREAT news!

Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter on the midway at Salem Willows opens tomorrow. We have been looking forward to this for some time now. Memories of Bea’s Sandwich Shop on Rte 110 in Methuen are dancing like Christmas sugar plums in the head of #TheBaldOne.

#SonOfAndExpletive took a short walk around Salem Willows this morning and has a few things to report.

1. Eric’s Kitchen has not yet opened. The current best guess is an October opening for a short first season. We are rooting for that to happen.

2. The park upgrades by the beach and pier are again fully underway. Plans call for them to finish in the Spring next year.

3. E.W. Hobbs is still opening at 11 A. M., Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter was prepping to open while our man was there as was Sage’s Fusion Kitchen, and Cappy’s Seafood. Holy Cow Ice Cream Cafe and peppys_pizza are also still open for the season.

Breakfast at Dotty and Ray’s – Salem, MA this morning hit all of the high notes. We’ll share detail later.

Beginning a week from today you’ll be able to enjoy a sandwich by Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter here, while their Salem Willows spot rests for the winter.

Friday morning brought #ElderBerry, #WingMan, and #TheBaldOne to Dotty and Ray’s – Salem, MA for a late Breakfast/Early Lunch at the Counter. Gennaro himself was on the floor hustling to serve guests. Along with the D&R menu, a Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter menu is also available these days.

WingMan went for the Meatball Sub. Made in house these are outstanding Meatballs and a nice sauce that fill the soft roll very well. Every bite was finished. Italian Benedict fed the BaldGuy and the photos say all that needs to be said. For the ElderOne it was the Panouzzo, made with house stretched pizza dough that is cooked in a small pizza oven complete with two stones and stuffed with egg, cheese and sausage this is a wonderful change in sandwich pace that was enjoyed greatly.

#VerryMerryBerry had better things to do with her canine and feline companions and sat this one out.

Last Saturday night #TheBaldOne decided to order delivery from Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter as he listened to the music Mike McGeown and Darren Ray at Columbus Society Lounge. He asked for the Italian with Fries.

The sandwich and fries arrived within 15 minutes, along with a surprise portion of Garlic Rolls. The Sub was wrapped neatly, large enough to make two meals for many and absolutely epic through every bite. If Fries are your thing, these are something for you to explore. Thicker than shoestring fries, but not as near as thick as a steak fry, lightly browned, and seasoned nicely these fries are good. As for the Garlic Rolls, well garlic makes everything better folks.

Gennaro’s Cutlet Counter is operating out of the Dotty and Ray’s – Salem, MA space for the winter. They offer Wednesday to Sunday dinner hours, 3 to 8 P. M.
