Today brings to us the end of the 2025 season at The Lobster Shanty. Here's the schedule for the bartenders throughout the day for those of you who want to say thanks to your favorite or favorites.
We've got to say, the days of yore with #TheGreatGallagher doing a crossword puzzle behind the bar, #LucyLucia serving on the patio, #KristenAndCassie creating shenanigans, and #BillyWilly sipping on Bud drafts between cigarettes come to mind today. But that's yesterday, today's capable crew looks forward to seeing you before today's last call.Final day of the season, our Shantastic schedule: We will open at Noon so everyone has time to say farewell, last call will be at midnight, ya filthy animals. Kitchen closes at 9 pm, or whenever the food runs out. Bartender round robin is as follows: Sean until 5 pm Mike P from 5 to 6 Monkey from 6 to 7 Flooze from 7 to 8 Dale from 8 to 9 Timmy from 9 to 10 Andrea from 10 to 11 Katie from 11 to Midnight Ricky "The Enforcer" from Midnight to close. Cheers! ... See MoreSee Less
The Tin Whistle welcomed our friends the excellent eagles in the legal field that we know as #RyanAndFord. When they aren't busy before judge, jury, or magistrates they enjoy checking out the dining option near and far.
A Cobb salad with outstanding house Steak Tips, Carolina Gold Ribs, and Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls kept our duo happy and also filled their bellies. The law is busy, hungry work.
Once again Chef Edina, one of our Salem favorites, sets the neighborhood bar kitchen standard high.

Lunch on Monday was in the Tanner City itself, at Champions Pub, Peabody. If ever a pub in Peabody has ever achieved iconic status, Champions seems to be the one.
As #MillerLitePlease and #TheBaldOne walked in just before Noon both the bar and dining room were quite busy, but a high top was secured quickly.
Onion Rings were first. How could anyone decide otherwise. Fresh cut, lightly breaded, and perfectly fried these Rings should not be ignored. A Sweet Italian Sausage Platter with rice and Fish & Chips fed our heroes, with two small, crisp Garden Salads ably assisting.
The service was attentive despite the busy room. ... See MoreSee Less
It was five years ago today that #TheBaldOne watched as the iconic neon Salem Witch sign was removed from the wall at Salem Beer Works and moved across the street to a temporary home until it was donated to North Shore Community Development Coalition.
We have been wondering as to it's final fate and have reached out to North Shore CDC in this regard. ... See MoreSee Less
These photos of the old Salem marketplace is from the mid-to-late 1960s tells a story all by itself. One of the buildings in both shots was also featured in yesterday's old-school Salem photo.
