Barrio Salem is the newest spot for Tacos in Salem. They opened before the arrival of the #HalloweenHordes, and then endured the onslaught as best they could just like everyone else and survived.

UPDATE: We’ve deleted the patio photo that included some distasteful Street graffiti. Our apologies for not spotting it. The photo has been deleted from our archives. However, we must say that we are quite surprised and disappointed that a couple of folks blamed the restaurant for the work of a nitwit with chalk.

Barrio Tacos will be opening soon in Salem. Their space in the old Salem Laundry building is coming along nicely. The patio, as seen in the photo below, will be on the Lafayette Street side.

Barrio Tacos – Haverhill, Ma was visited recently by #WingMan and company and he had positive thoughts on the experience. Their Portsmouth NH location is also open.
The bigger news locally is that their spot here in Salem is getting closer too. The contractors and artists are hard at work getting the place ready for you. Things are looking good in that very creative space.
Today we spoke with the owner Maggie who told us that they are hoping to open towards the end of July, but no firm date has yet been set. The outdoor, street side seating will be on the Lafayette Street side, and not on Central Street.
