This is the Binx Benny at Black Cat Diner on Boston Street. House Sausage Gravy over poached eggs, corned beef hash, and house biscuits. Binx of course is Thackery Binx, a young 17th Century boy turned into an immortal black cat by Winifred Sanderson in the 1993 Hocus Pocus movie. Did Binx enjoy sausage gravy? We are quite sure that the answer is yes.

If you enjoy a good Sausage Gravy then this is one to put on your list of things to do. As an additional note, the Black cat Home Fries are also worth the time to visit.

#TheBaldOne was delighted to discover that the one or two of the staff are quite capable of verbally sparring with witty, and flirtatious repartee.

Time moves on in Salem. This old diner has morphed from one place to another over the decades. Today as Black Cat Diner it continues to serve a great Breakfast.

#WingMan and #TheBaldOne snagged a booth this past Sunday morning and enjoyed an excellent and relaxing hour with a Steak Bomb Omelet complete with a side of sliced tomato for our WingedGuy, and softly Scrambled Eggs with hot Italian Sausage for the BaldOne. As you can see there was also a nice side of lightly fried Spam that made it to the table. Yes, “Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam…. lovely, wonderful Spam.”

Black Cat Diner fed Breakfast to #WingMan and #TheBaldOne yesterday morning. This was their first meal prepared under the new owners of what is a long established, iconic Salem eatery.

The Omelet was constructed nicely, with pretty slices of ripe, red tomato on the side. Just a few drops of Cholula Hot Sauce were added for additional mid-morning zest. It’s important to keep our winged friend energized for his busy days.

A Binx Benny fed our BaldOne, you know him. Legend says that he always speaks in the third person. As Moe would have said to Curly, “what a maroon.” Nevertheless, this plate featured perfectly poached eggs and Jennifer’s own excellent sausage gravy over her house-made biscuits. The home fries, unlike any other in town, remain a favorite here.

Stop by and wish the new team well soon.
