#TheBaldOne is a huge fan of a good meatball, and especially of a Meatball Sub, or any kind of meatball sandwich. We are fortunate that there are a few spots here in Salem that make good meatballs from scratch.

Engine House Pizza makes a good meatball. This Sub, on a toasted roll with sauce, onions, mushrooms, and provolone served as an excellent mid-afternoon treat. The sauce is ladled into the roll first, with all else piled above it.

If you too are a meatball maniac like our guy, put Engine House on your list.

Engine House Pizza is making their own Foccacia bread these days, so with a slice of Cheese Pie as an appetizer #TheBaldOne asked for Foccacia stuffed with meatballs, provolone, mushroom and onion. It hit that hungry spot well.

There was also a Hannah Pie thrown into the mix by Scott the lead #PizzaEngineer. Yes that’s right. A small freebie was offered, accepted, and greedily devoured. This would upset our biggest naysayer #AngelaTheAngry. So be it.

It has been some time since we checked out the Burger at Engine House Pizza. This spot isn’t known as a burger destination, but since they offer one, we need to see occasionally see what it’s all about.

Now what you see is a double-patty Burger ordered medium-rare.The double is not a menu item, but it appears that special orders don’t upset them. Each thick patty was hand-rolled and got a nice slice of cheese. Onions and pickles were added by request. The reality of the situation was that the bun had trouble handling the beef, and a fork became a requirement. This was not a terrible development, since plans seldom go as expected.

Here’s to the Burger that goes rogue.

#SonOfAnExpletive had a hankering for a Meat Ball Sub yesterday and the ever dependable Engine House Pizza was there for him. But first there was a couple of slices of Steak Alfredo Pizza.

The slices served nicely to prime the appetite for a well stuffed sandwich accentuated with mushrooms, onion, provolone cheese, sauce, and a few strategically placed slices of jalapeños.
