Our post on Peppy’s Pizza the other day provoked some spirited discussion on what Beach Pizza actually is. Most folks around here consider the Tripoli Pizza and Bakery style to be the actual definition of #BeachPizza.

Well it appears that those who live downeast disagree. Up there in Old Orchard Beach, Maine they say that the pie from Bill’s Pizza in the accompanying photos is their Beach Pizza.

Let’s live and let live. Love your Pizza. Eat your Pizza.

Peppy’s Pizza at Salem Willows makes an underrated, under appreciated, to often under the radar Pie. Why is this? Maybe because they are a seasonal Willows business that we all take for granted.

It’s a thin crust, crispy Pie in that old-school tradition that avoids the frills that come with a lot of the upscale pies today. This slice, enjoyed yesterday reminded #TheBaldOne to always remember that what he wants is never far away.

The Peppy’s Pie just may meet the criteria of that wandering god of pizza reviews and sports gambling, who calls himself David Portnoy – El Presidente. It surely meets the criteria of #TheBaldOne.

The weather was nice enough and the sun warm enough to steer our thoughts towards the Salem Willows and summertime.

Chop Suey sandwiches and a #17 at Salem Lowe. Fried seafood at Cappy’s and Clam Shack Salem Massachusetts. Popcorn, ice cream, and hot dogs from E.W. Hobbs, subs and pizza from Peppy’s Pizza, and a classic beach pie from Summer Pizza, LLC.

There are moments in life where the simplest of lunches will suffice.

Fired boneless chicken and fried plantains from Punta Cana Dominican Grill in Beverly would fit that bill. As would the onion rings and french fries at Peppy’s Pizza on the Salem Willows Midway.

Yes we went to Peppy’s Pizza at the Salem Willows today. But, there is also Summer Pizza, LLC on the midway nowadays. True beach-style pie is their thing and we intend to pay them a visit very soon.

Peppy’s Pizza at the Salem Willows was the place for lunch today for #Seabrooklady, her #ArmCandy, and #MrDenborough.

It’s a chewy crust, not overly thick. The sauce is a on the sweeter side and the cheese is generous with a little sharpness to it.

Chop Suey sandwiches at Salem Lowe are a classic Salem delicacy. Next door at E.W. Hobbs you can get hot dogs, a #SalemLobsterRoll or an ice cream. Down the Midway at Peppy’s Pizza you can get a great slice and a sandwich.

Summer may not be around the corner, but it is worth waiting for.

Lunch on a Wednesday can be many things at many places in Salem. Here are two fried type suggestions, and also a more simple option.

First up is a take-out Fried Clam Plate at the most classic of Salem fish spots, Dube’s Seafood on Jefferson Avenue.

Or you can go new school Salem fish spot and hit Turner’s Seafood on Church Street for Fried Oysters.

A slice of pizza and a tuna sub at Peppy’s Pizza Salem Willows should also do the trick for you. Then you can walk over and play a little Skee-Ball at The Willows Casino.
