How many of you dine vicariously through the awe-inspiring dining adventures of #WeddingPlanner and her white knight the tall and handsome #SerArmCandy?

A recent unplanned adventure to Settler found them at a couple of bar seats and the meal was simply “amazing.”

Two finely crafted cocktails began the experience accompanied by house Sourdough Bread and a bit of savory oil for dipping. If you are a home baker who loves sourdough, the Settler bread made with a 150 year old starter is an experience made for you.

“Tasty” Oysters from the shared menu and a Mushroom dish with lentils from the starter menu were selected and greatly enjoyed.

Then it was on the entrees. A “spectacular” Grilled Tuna, check out the photo was visually appealing and perfectly cooked. The ” great” Chicken Sandwich, available only at the bar came along too.

It was all punctuated with Pistachio Gelato and a couple of Cappuccinos.

The final word from always active team is “it was worth every penny!”

Oh My. #WeddingPlanner and #ArmCandy celebrated their Anniversary last week at Settler, perhaps the most under the radar, truly under appreciated dining spot in Salem. If you know you know. If you don’t know, we suggest that you should.

This dinner covered most, if not all of the bases. It’s obvious that the Settler team went all out for our friends and we think that’s a wonderful thing. Thank you Settler.

Last Saturday night, while #TheBaldOne was out looking for a burger amongst the #HalloweenHordes, he noticed that Settler had some seats open at the bar, the dining room, and the patio. Alas, a Burger was not to be because on that night they had a Pre-Fixe Menu. No worries. We’ll be back another time, and wthout a doubt our #BlueEyes will drop in as this a favorite spot.

How do you celebrate being awarded a bachelors degree?

Last week #DasSchnukie tooks the hard working and dedicated #ConcoceSuComida to Settler as a reward for becoming a baccalaureate as determined by her successful studies Endicott College.

There was gin cocktail and a drink made with a smoky mezcal, appetizers, entrees and a fancy dessert too.

Let’s hear from our two fine dining heroes, who are both can be a bit persnickety when it comes to restaurant. “The food was excellent, but even better was the service. It wasn’t just pleasant, it was genuine. Best part of the whole experience.”

The Special tonight at Settler is Ricotta & Spinach Scarpinocc with wild mushroom and Parmesan cream.

This begs the question. What in the wide world of pasta is Scarpinnoc?

It’s a Bergamo dish of a variant of ravioli dumplings. Bergamo, known as Città dei Mille (City of the Thousand) is located in the alpine Lombardy region of northern Italy. It’s the second most visited city in Lombardy after Milan. Founded by a Celtic tribe in 49 B. C. it became a Roman town before being conquered by Attila the Hun in the 5th Century.

Settler has certainly had an interesting first year in Salem. Let’s try to help them through the beginning of their second year with a little #SalemFoodie love.
