Until a years ago this building was home to a bank. Originally it was the Merchants Bank, founded in 1811 as the result of a sharp, divisive political rift among the locals. It later morphed into the Merchants-Warren Bank until being sold to Shawmut Bank in the 1990s which shortly thereafter became Fleet Bank. During that transition a lot of very valuable Salem themed artwork was removed, never to be seen in Salem again. Such is business. Most recently it was a Sovereign/Santander Bank. Today it has found new retail life.
A couple of Americanos, one with pumpkin flavoring were enjoyed. Rest assured that the pumpkin coffee was for #TerribleTee, and not #TheBaldOne.
