Piccalilli? Yes Picalilli.

Some of you you may be familiar with this relish type condiment. There are many variations around the world. But it seems to have become rare around these parts.

This American style Piccalilli is available at Turner’s Seafood – Salem. It comes as a condiment with the Cod Cakes. But we were told that you can also buy some to take home with you.

Mussels, Belgium style at Turner’s Seafood – Salem. These come with shallots and leeks in a dijon & beer cream broth.

#SneakyPete found that the generous order was steamed perfectly and that the broth had just enough dijon to compliment the mussels without overpowering them. He reports, that as the last photo shows, he used the provided bread to sop up the sauce.

As you settle down for the night, or maybe you are seeing this as you rise from your night’s sleep here are a few suggestions for Thursday lunch.

1. Bulgogi at Bonchon Downtown Salem. Say hello to Peter and don’t forget to try the Kimchi.

2. Onion rings at Salem Beer Works. No matter the entree, these rings are a worthy companion.

3. A Turkey Reuben served at Brodies Seaport. #BlueEyes can’t seem to stay away from this spot.

4. The Tuna sandwich at Turner’s Seafood – Salem. Truly a unique take on tuna.

5. The Boston College at Kushco Bistro. Their own chicken salad creation.
